A Cabinet meeting held today with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair resolved to appoint 13 regular Principals and 17 regular Vice-Principals of Government higher secondary schools where these posts are vacant.
The meeting held at the cabinet room of the Chief Minister's office decided to appoint 125 Headmasters and 250 Assistant Headmasters of the high schools which were upgraded from junior high schools by way of promotion.
Of the total 305 Government high schools, there are only five regular Headmasters.
Taking due note of the situation, the Cabinet meeting decided to relax the general criteria of three years experience for the Assistant Headmasters who were promoted last year so that they can be given another promotion to the post of Headmasters.
The Cabinet also gave its consent to hike monthly remuneration of Home Guards from Rs 3450 to Rs 5000 .
Expansion of some major roads of the State also figured at the meeting, informed a source.
