COHSEM Chairman appeals for free and fair exam

Dr Lamabam Mohendro, Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has appealed for 'free and fair' examination for Class XII which is slated to start from April 7 .
The Chairman made the appeal while speaking to the media at a press meet held at the office of the Council and extended best wishes to all the students who would be appearing in the exam.
Speaking to the media, the Chairman said following the improved situation of Covid-19 pandemic, 28,400 students are all set to appear in the exam which includes 27,983 regular candidates, 240 private candidates and 201 students in improvement/casual category.
The examination is going to be conducted for a total of 46 subjects.

The 28,400 students will be spread at 118 examination centres across 14 districts (Kamjong and Pherzawl have no examination centres) .
Out of the 118 centres, 39 are in the hills.
In connection with the upcoming examination, a discussion on the do's and don'ts during the examination was also conducted which was attended by office in-charge and Principals of 118 exam centres, he added.
Flying squads have also been constituted to monitor the examination, he added.
Dr Lamabam Mohendro further appealed everyone concerned to extend support in making sure the exam is conducted in a free and fair manner.
He also informed that various CSOs have agreed to extend their support in conducting the exam in a free and fair manner.
The Chairman also appealed to all students, teachers, parents and staff to observe COVID-19 appropriate behaviour during the examination.
