Indian Panorama Film Festival Manipur underway

The 'Indian Panorama Film Festival Manipur with retrospective of Aribam Syam Sharma organised by Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) in collaboration with Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting began from Saturday at the auditorium of MSFDS, Palace Compound, here.
Master filmmaker of the state Aribam Syam Sharma inaugurated the five-day long event, which is being organised as part of the golden jubilee celebration of Manipuri cinema, in the presence of art and culture commissioner M Joy and renowned film critic from Assam Bitopan Borborah.
In his speech, Syam Sharma said that regional films on different languages make Indian film as a whole.
The films which will be screened during the festival are some of the finest films of Indian cinema curated from the Indian panorama section.
He urged the viewers to watch the films and study their perspectives.
He thanked MSFDS for organising the festival here in Imphal.
Altogether 12 feature and 14 non-feature films from the Indian panorama section will be screened during the festival.
Aribam Syam Sharma's Imagi Ningthem, Olangthagi Wangmadasu, Isanou, Orchid of Manipur, Yelhou Jagoi, Sanabi, Meetei Pung, and The Monpas of Arunachal Pradesh are among the films to be screened in the festival.
