Imphal, August 26 2019:
Pointing out that it has been 38 days since it began launching agitation, the JAC formed in connection with the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana has accused the Government of making a fool out of the people.
A press release issued by the convenor in-charge of the JAC mentioned that during the Assembly session today, the Chief Minister replied to a query put forward by MLA Joykisan saying that Babysana's case has not been handed over to the CBI yet.
This means that all along, the State Government has been duping the people demanding justice for Babysana, by making false promises and assurances, the JAC alleged.
Demanding immediate and unconditional release of the arrested JAC members, it further demanded the Chief Minister to go to Delhi and hand over the case to the CBI before August 31.If the Government fails to heed the demands by August 31, stringent agitation will be launched from the next day, September 1, the JAC threatened.
On the other hand, the JAC also demanded the police to refrain from using force against women and student protesters.
