Kangleipal arrested on charges of bomb blast at RIMS MS quarter and Lamphel PS

Sapam Kangleipal, chairman of KCP Maoist, was formally arrested by Lamphel police today and taken into 6 days police custody remand (till August 29) in connection with two different FIR cases which were registered against him.
Sapam Kangleipal Meitei alias Chirangelen alias Sarat (38) s/o Shyamsunder of Nongada Awang Leikai, was produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal East by a team of Porompat PS on August 24 following the end of police custody period.
During the hearing, the IO of the case prayed for judicial remand of the KCP Maoist chairman which was granted by the Court.
In the meantime, a team of Lamphel PS prayed for formally arresting the KCP Maoist chairman in connection with two different cases which were registered against him.
After formally arresting him, a team of Lamphel police produced Kangleipal before the Duty Magistrate, Imphal West, along with a prayer for 7 days police custody remand.
The IO of the first FIR case, submitted that the case was registered against Sapam Kangleipal in connection with a hand grenade explosion inside the campus of RIMS Medical Superintendent on April 1, 2016, at around 7.15 pm and prayed for seven days police custody remand of Kangleipal.
Similarly, the IO of the second case submitted that a case was registered as a Suo Moto case in connection with a hand grenade explosion near the gate of Lamphel PS on April 21 last year, at around 7.10 pm, and prayed for police remand of the individual for a period of seven days.
The Duty Magistrate, after hearing the IO of both cases, remanded the accused into six days in police custody (till August 29) .
