Awareness programme on women empowerment held at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, August 26 2019:
Under the sponsorship of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Universal Caring Mission (Unicam) has organised an awareness programme on women empowerment at Girl Open Shelter Home at Bishnupur Bazar Nganuleima Leirak, yesterday.
As part of the programme, the attendees also paid tributes to one Late Heisnam Yaiphabi Chanu from Thanga (former occupant of the home), who succumb to Scrub typhus.
Apart from donating one Honda Activa to the shelter home for its development, Unicam also extended monetary aid to the mother of the deceased girl, H (o) Kiram Leima.
Later, N Nandashyam, District Child Protection Officer Bishnupur handed over Juvenile Justice Act Certificate to the home.
Speaking at the event, N Nandashyam said that giving vocational training to the children in such home is essential for them to become independent and successful when they reach adulthood.
He also urged the guardians to motivate their wards to lead a healthy and resourceful lives.
Advocate P Premchand, Chairman, Child Welfare Committee, Bishnupur, Advocate; S Dhana, Programme Co-ordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Bishnupur; social worker, Karam Ranjit and H (o) Kiram Leima, mother of (L) Yaiphabi Chanu attended the programme as the presidium members.
