Ukhrul ADC election: Re-poll in 6 booths held peacefully

Ukhrul, June 06 2015 : Repolling in 6 polling stations in different Autonomous District Council constituencies in Ukhrul district was held peacefully on Saturday.

According to official sources, Molnom and Mullam polling stations under 16-Zalengbung DCC recorded a total voters' turnout percentage of 89.23 and 95.88.Voter turnout percentage recorded at Routei Riha polling station under 22-Routei Riha DCC was 88.1, while that of Litan Sareikhong was 93.85.Kangum polling station under 24-Nambashi DCC recorded voter turnout percentage at 93.61 while Ngaimu polling booth under 6-Tolloi DCC recorded yoter turnout of 80.2 per cent.

Repolling at all the six booths was conducted in a free and fair manner without exercising proxy voting.

In Ngaimu booths, Village Development Council along with the youth and women society volunteered to oversee the democratic process, sources said.
