ADC re-poll conducted peacefully

The re-poll and rescheduled poll for the ADC election for the six ADCs of Manipur were conducted peacefully on Saturday.
There is wide difference in the poll percentage amongst the ADCs however the day went peacefully unlike the June 1 poll which was marred by booth capturing, proxy voting and mismanagement, among others.
Polls started from 7 am and ended at 4.30 pm.
There were re-poll at 72 polling stations and rescheduled poll at two polling stations under various ADCs.
Results for the entire ADC election will be announced on June 10 .
On the other hand, three BJP Manipur members were house-arrested last night at 21/Oinam area of Senapati district, according to reports.
They went there as a part of the State Election Observer team for the re-poll that was conducted on Saturday.
They were Mangiton (State BJP vice-president), Kharkhat Tamang (general secretary) and Chaoba (executive member) .
However, a combined team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles successfully rescued them this morning from the clutches of the NSCN (IM) cadres, the reports added.
