Imphal, January 28 2018:
Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) is set to organise 'Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi' campaign from February 9, with the aim of strengthening the education system as well as to spread awareness about the history of Manipur and its territorial and political status.
Speaking to media persons during the felicitation ceremony of its 16 newly elected office bearers at its head office at Sega Road Keishampat Top Leirak today, MSF president Ngariyanbam Milan said that the association is aiming to carry out its action plans which the association announced some days back.
One of the points (among the 11 points of the action plan) is the organisation of 'Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamsi' campaign from February 9 to February 18, this year, with the aim of spreading mass awareness about the history of Manipur, its territorial integrity and political status to the students, he added.
Milan also said that MSF is planning to strengthen its continuous programme of moral education and further appealed to the State Government to implement Manipur Youth Policy and Manipur Education Policy at the earliest.
However, the State Government has failed to provide a clear status of the two policies, he alleged and warned that MSF will be forced to take up various forms of agitation if the State Government keeps on neglecting the demand of the association.
Milan also expressed desire to organise a meeting with the authority concerned regarding the Manipur Private School Registration and Regulation Bill 2017 and the Manipur Coaching Institute Control and Regulation Bill 2017, as the people do not have proper knowledge regarding the two Bills.
