Thadou Inpi Manipur endorses UNC's call

Imphal, September 11 2026: The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) has endorsed the United Naga Council's (UNC) demand for abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with the KNO and UPF .

A press release issued by the TIM said that the killing of the three leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association India on May 13, 2026 and the abduction of six Naga civilians including a Pastor on the same day who were later found murdered with their bodies dismembered demand immediate and impartial investigation.

The UNC has categorically held cadres of the Kuki National Front-P (KNF-P) responsible, acting under the direction of its president, ST Thangboi-spouse of Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen-and Jangboi Kipgen, Home Secretary of KNF-P .

"The Thadou community continues to demand justice for the three Thadou church leaders.

We equally recognize the Naga community's legitimate demand for justice for the six Naga victims", TIM said.

It asserted that the pressure mounted by the UNC and nine Naga legislators including Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho for justice and decisive action against armed Kuki groups-particularly the KNF-P-is genuine and must be addressed with urgency by the Government of India and the Government of Manipur.

Given the gravity of the situation, the demand for the resignation and removal of Nemcha Kipgen from the office of Deputy Chief Minister, alongside the prosecution of ST Thangboi and Jangboi Kipgen-Chairman of the Unified Command of all armed Kuki militant groups, SoO and non-SoO, as alleged masterminds-cannot be dismissed, TIM said.

It also urged the people of Manipur to unite in the fight for justice, to end Kuki terrorism in the State once and for all, and to join hands to bring justice for the May 13 twin attacks that killed Thadou and Naga civilians.
