UBSA emerge champions of 17th SENA CUP 2018

Imphal, January 28 2018:
UBSA, Mantak came from behind to beat AIFA, Irengband 2-1 in the final match to win the title of the 17th SENA CUP 2018 organised by Sena Athletes' Organisation under the aegis of District Sports Association, Kakching at Kakching Wairi Khunjampat playground.
L Dingku of AIFA opened the account early in the fourth minute but the single goal lead did not last long as Songneingir of UBSA equalised the score through a well taken shot in the 15th minute.
Anish got the breakthrough in the 26th minute of the match handing UBSA the 2-1 lead which lasted till the final whistle.
AIFA tried hard to came back into the game during the second half but the well executed defense line of UBSA kept all threats at bay to emerge victorious.
The closing function of this district level sub-junior boys' football tournament was graced by Dr Y Radheshyam, MLA, Hiyanglam AC, Md Fajur Rahim, MLA, Wabagai AC as chief guest and functional president while S Dwijamani Singh, DIG, Telecom, Manipur Police Telecom Organisation and N Ibochou, Addiltional SP Telecom, Manipur Police Telecom Organisation attended the function as guest of honours who also gave away prizes to the winners.
Winners, UBSA walked away with Rs 30,000 and title trophy (rolling) sponsored by Moirangthem Ibomcha Singh, from Kakching Ningthou Leikai Azad Hall Pareng in Memory of his mother M Rajmani Devi while runners up AIFA were contended with Rs 20,000 .
Man of the final match, L Dinku Singh of UBSA also claimed the highest scorer prize (Rs 2000+ Rs 1500+ mementos) scoring 6 of the best for his team while Anish of the winning team was awarded best striker prize of Rs 1000.Songneingir Kom (J no.7) and Ronaldo (J no.12) of UBSA were also honoured with best midfielder and best defender prizes (Rs 1000 each) .
Best fair play team prize of Rs 1000 went to DYA, Elangkhangpokpi and Th Netrajit (J no.10) of the same team fetched the best player prize (Rs 2000+mementos).Best manager award was given to P Santomba of SAO, Kakching Wairi and Md Abarar of the same team bagged the best goalkeeper award.
