IGAR (S) conducts career counselling, security coordination meet

Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted lecture on career opportunities for youth of Ningthiching village in Bishnupur district on Saturday to educate the local youth regarding various career opportunities available in government and private sectors.
The youth were also briefed about professional courses which can help in getting jobs in present competitive environment, said a PRO IGAR (S) release, adding that various initiatives and flagship schemes of Government of India under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojna were also discussed.
A Total of 35 local youths attended the lecture.
Meanwhile, Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a security coordination meet at Lamdangmei village in Noney district on Saturday.
The meet Witnessed a healthy participation of village chiefs and it provided the platform for discussion of various career opportunities for the youth and the need to insulate them from drug menace, the PRO said in another release.
During the meet locals were sensitised and updated on current security situation existing in the area and were encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the region, it added.
On the other hand, Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a lecture on drug abuse and illicit trafficking at Selkui village in Chandel district on Saturday during which various on aspects related to drugs abuse and its ill effects on human body and psychological health were deliberated upon.
Lecture also covered consequences of illicit drugs trafficking in a civilised society.
