State delegates Hojai-bound for Nupi Lal observance

Imphal, December 09 2022:
A 12-member delegation from Manipur left Imphal on Thursday to take part in the Nupi Lal observance to be held in Hojai on December 12 under the joint aegis of United Manipuri Association, Assam (UMMA); Handloom Committee, Hojai District; and Manipuri Women Association, (Manipuri Nupi Lup), Assam, Hojai.
The team which left Imphal from All Manipur United Clubs' Association (AMUCO) office comprises Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur president Longjam Memchoubi, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) president Yumkhaibam Kunjarani and AMUCO vice president Koijam Helen among others.
The delegation was flagged off by AMUCO president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the flag off event, Nando informed that though a number of Manipuri people have settled outside the state due to certain reasons, yet the bond of love and brotherhood still remains strong as we all are Manipuri by birth.
To further strengthen the bond with Manipuris settled far and wide, we need to create awareness on the sacrifices made by our ancestors so that the present and future generations are well versed with the history of the state, he opined.
Nando further stated that AMUCO along with AMAWOVA and Poirei Leimarol attended the Nupi Lal celebration held in Agartala in 2021 .
This year too, he along with advisor Yangsosong Koireng will lead a four-member team from Imphal to take part in the Nupi Lal observance at Nalgaria Radha Mandav Devatabari Complex in Agartala, the president said.
