Monetary aid extended for Imoinu pilgrimage

Several philanthropists extended monetary aid to Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) in view of the Ima Imoinu Iratpa festival to be held at the shrine located atop Koubru hills on January 13.In a statement, UKAL secretary (publicity) Th Ratankumar informed that Angom Salai Apunba donated Rs 3,000, Dr Thounaojam Ruhichand Rs 5,000 and Chanam Ibomcha Rs 1,000 to UKAL as huge amount of money will be needed for organising the festival and to arrange vehicles for the pilgrims keen to take part in it and further urged the people to help them by giving donations So that the festival could be organised successfully.
Continuing its programme organised jointly by UKAL and Uttra at religious sites, a discussion session was held with representatives of different religious groups at Shikhong Kumbi Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Laibung on Friday on present condition of the society.
The meeting also resolved to make sure people of the area participate in the Imoinu Iratpa to be held at Koubru.
In another release, Imoinu Festival Committee League of Callow Patriots, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal informed that it will organise the festival with much gaiety along with light decorations this year after a halt for the last two years because of Covid-19 pandemic situation.
While wishing for a prosperous and harmonious society by following the message of Ima Imoinu, it urged all those who want to conduct programme on the day to contact the organising committee in advance.
