Agriculture Dept launches e-license website

Imphal, August 05 2021: In an attempt to increase the amount of borrowing by state from centre and RBI, Agriculture Department launched a website to facilitate convenient application for licence for fertilizer, insecticides and pesticides under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Ease of Doing Business reforms' District Level Business Action Plan.

Agriculture director Kh Lalmani launched the e-licence website https://elicense.agrimanipur.in during a simple function held at office of the directorate near Sanjenthong on Thursday.

Speaking in this regard, Kh Lalmani informed that retailers can now apply for licence for fertilizer, insecticides and pesticides through the website.

After verification of the applications, the licence will be uploaded on the website and retailers could download and use it.

Original copy of the licence could be collected from the department at any time but the downloaded licence will also be valid, he added.

Informing that there are various activities to be taken up by several departments under 'Ease of Doing Business' in District Level Business Action Plan, Lalmani said that the e-licence website has been launched as issuing licence for fertilizer, insecticide and pesticide by agriculture department is included in the action plan.

He maintained that issuance of licence through the website will reduce illegal use and sale of pesticide and insecticide.

Moreover, the government will receive the revenue directly, the director added.
