Relief materials provided to 500 villagers

Imphal, September 03 2015:
The Emergency Flood Relief Response Manipur 2015 cum Medical Camp which was commenced from August 8 under the aegis of Emmanuel Hospital Association and Disaster Management & Mitigation Unit (EHA-DMMU) in partnership with district administration Chandel and other CSOs concluded on Thursday.
The relief team focused on 14 identified villages affected by the recent flood and landslides in Chandel including Joumoul, Holengjang and Tuijang villages.
It also conducted medical health camps and distributed free medicines.
The medical health camps were followed by distribution of relief materials such as water purifying tablets, collapsible water jerry cans, treated mosquito nets and solar lamps to 500 affected families.
The relief team of EHA also thanked the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel and his staff for extending cooperation and providing accommodation to the relief team and space for storage of relief materials at Disaster Management Building, DC office complex.
It may be mentioned that Emmanuel Hospital Association is a Delhi based International NGO responding to natural disasters since 1991 in India and neighboring countries.
