2 more Govt office buildings set ablaze in CCPur

Palpable tension still continues to haunt Churachandpur town for the fourth consecutive day as widespread protests were held by agitators on Thursday.
Public anger over the introduction and passing of the three Bills by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 refused to subside on Thursday.
According to sources, an angry crowd on Thursday set on fire the office buildings of Sub-Divisional Office, Churachandpur (SDO) and District Exchange Office, Churachandpur in the evening.
The two government offices were located at Chaiengkonpang.
With this, the total number of government offices set ablaze in the protest has gone up to four.
On Thursday, women folks representing various tribes and organizations held a sit-in protest at Lamka Public ground defying 144 CrPC imposed by the District Administration in the Churachandpur town.
One succumbs to injuries .
Meanwhile, one protester identified as K Lamkhenthang (43), son of K Ginzalian of lower Chapellane succumbed to his injured at the Churachandpur District Hospital on Thursday morning.
He sustained bullet injuries on September 1 during the attempt to storm Churachandpur Police Station.
With this, the death of toll in the violent protest has climbed to eight.
Sources also reported that angry mobs once again made attempts to storm into the residential complexes of Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing and MLA T Manga Vaiphei.
