'Eegi Khongul Liba' held in Jiribam

A programme "Eegi Khongul Liba" was organized by Iramdam Kanba Lup (IKAL), Jiribam branch at the Sorok Atingba community hall in Jiribam, Imphal East on Sunday.
Mutum Bina , Pradhan, Hilghat Gram Panchayat, Ima Koibi Leima, president of IKAL, Ima Sushila, president of AJMP, Ima Mema, president of JIMPAL, Ima Nivarani, president of WACAK, Ima Jini, president of JIMWAK and Ima Thoibi, president of WWOK graced the programme, reports Jiri News Network.
IKAL, JIribam branch general secretary Geeta delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
IKAL, Manipur president W Luwangleima gave the keynote address in which she voiced concern about the dwindling population of the indigenous people.
She urged for a concerted effort to safeguard the indigenous population and feared that this population might become a minority community in Manipur in near future.
JIMPAL advisor Sarat Sharma, AJUCA assistant secretary O Dharmendra and senior citizen Purnima spoke during the programme which also witnessed a 'Sajibu Khudol Tamba' event.
A discussion session on "Iramdamsida Yelhoumishing-gi Maraibak" was also held, which was moderated by JIMPAL advisor Sarat Sharma and Jiri News Network president Saratkumar spoke as a resource person.
