First batch of CON given adieus

College of Nursing (CON), RIMS, gave a farewell to the final year students on Friday.
Though there are 50 seats for all India and NE quota, there are 32 students in this final batch since 18 others had left for various reasons.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof N.Damayanti, advisor to CON recalled how the authority had faced the teething troubles.
Besides, there were moments of uncertainty among the parents and students.
There were no timely appointments of teaching faculties for technical reasons and this had resulted in the loss of one precious academic year.
But once all conditions were fulfilled CON was affiliated to Manipur University in 2011.Today, the nursing students get quality education.
Besides they are exposed to one of the best hospitals in the country.
The advisor also exhorted the outgoing students to work hard so that they could shine in their profession.
Prof H.Jamuna, principal of CON, said that it was a matter of celebration that the first batch nursing students were passing out.
She said that students in CON should follow the footsteps of these students who are leaving with flying colours.
External examiners who were present in the simple function also appreciated the kind of nursing education provided to the students.
