Imphal, August 24 2014:
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has expressed unhappy over the unwanted incident that took place on the night of August 22 in Sugnu Kuki area of Chandel district and warned the perpetrators not to repeat such crimes in UKLF area in future.
In a statement issued by its Joint Secretary MP Haokip, UKLF said that its fact finding team has confirmed that the kidnapping was the handiwork of some KNLF cadres and not UKLF.
Being a signatory to SoO agreement with the Govt, UKLF never indulge in such activities since it is against the ground rules of the agreement, MP Haokip asserted, while appealing to the perpetrators to carry out such actions or activities in their own area of operation if they wish to do so but not in UKLF area anymore.
"We consider it purposely done to tarnish the good image of the UKLF," MP Haokip further said and appreciated the security forces (police and the para-military forces) who came to operate against the kidnappers.
Nonetheless, UKLF requested all Govt security agencies to first approach the social leaders of the area whenever anything happened or going to happen so that we can cooperate with each other and nab the culprits without any sort of harassment of innocent public.
"We have signed peace pact with the Govt in order to have peace and security in the area and anybody who are bend to disturb this would not be tolerated.
UKLF will launch operation against such criminals and anti- social activities in the area under the code name 'Operation Clear House', MP Haokip added.
