After all the tests and selection procedures had been completed, 315 ASI selected candidates have not received any appointment letter from the State Government and the department concerned till date.
The silence on the part of the State Government regarding this matter have stir confusion among the ASI selected candidates and their family members, Ningthang Chingangbam stated.
"While the selection process took 4 years, selected candidates still wait for the appointment letter with no other source of income.
We had already submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and DGP in the past too but nothing has been done so far.
We urged the department concerned and the State Government to pay heed to the grievances of the selected candidates and issue the appointment letter at the earliest," said Ningthang.
Following the appeal, the ASI selected candidates with a demand to issue the appointment letter marched towards the Chief Minister's bungalow in Babupara.
However, they were stopped by police personnels infront of BOSEM office.
The situation was pacified following the intervention of a Police officer and the candidates were taken to the Imphal Police Headquarter for a meeting.
With agreement from both the sides, memorandum was resubmitted to the Chief Minister.
