Imphal, May 15 2015 :
Zeliangrong Students' Union Khoupum Area (ZSUKA) has lauded the State Government and North Eastern Council (NEC) for taking up construction works of Tongjei Maril (Old Cachar road) from Zoujangtek to Rengpang via Khoupum valley.
It has been the wisdom of the Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and Works Minister Ratankumar to have assigned a high profile Hyderabad based Keystone Company as the work agency as required for the sake of better results, ZSUKA said in a statement.
ZSUKA appealed to the private company to live up to the expectation of the public and maintain quality in executing the work for which all the civil societies are monitoring the process.
Saying that the union would leave no stone unturned in enabling execution of quality work, ZSUKA said that it has been a long cherished dream of the denizens of Khoupum area to have proper connectivity with the rest of the world.
Now, the dream has come true and people of the area would extend unflinching support morally, physically and spiritually in times of trials and difficulties during the course of construction works, ZSUKA said.
ZSUKA said that there is no compensation package in this NEC funded project unlike the ADB sponsored projects.
As such, no village level committees or individuals should give hindrances or disturbances to the road construction agency.
The union also urged the villages located along Tongjei Maril such as Zoujangtek, Nungsai, Tubung, Gangluan Pt I-V, Namkaolong, Thanagong, Daithaolong, Gaidimjang, Lubanglong, Ragailong, Taodaijang, Thingcharuklong and Rengpang to give maximum support to the work agency.
