Sit in protest

A sit in protest was staged today by meira paibi members of Pourabi Makha Leikai and Nungoi Awang Leikai after a bomb was found planted at the residence of Nongthombam Ibomcha (70) s/o Nila Singh of Pourabi Makha Leikai by unknown miscreants last night.
According to reports, N Lucky, daughter-in-law of Ibomcha came across the bomb around 9 pm and Lamlai Police was immediately informed.
Bomb experts retrieved the bomb around 11.45 pm.
President of Pourabi Meira Paibi Wahengbam Premila said that such act must be condemned at the strongest term as it has disrupted the peaceful environment of the locality.
She asked the individuals/groups concerned to clarify the matter.
Meanwhile, another daughter-in-law of Ibomcha, N Sobita said that the family does not have enmity with any person of the locality and such life attempt to family members has traumatized them.
She added that there are no threats or demands from any organization or groups and urged all concerned to look into the matter and apprehend those behind the incident.
It may be mentioned that Nongthombam Ibomcha has three sons, the eldest one is a member of the governing body of Birmangol College, while one is an MR personnel and another a police personnel.
Rising Star Club, Pourabi and Pourabi Lainingthou Puthiba Thousil Kanglup cum Development Committee also condemned the incident.
