North East Festival to begin from Nov 7

Imphal, November 04 2014:
The 2nd Edition of 'North East Festival, a carnival of music, dance, traditional sports, ethnic food, fashion, exhibition of photography, painting, film, handloom & handicraft, and agriculture along with discussions on various issues of regional and national importance will be held from November 7 to 10 at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi.
Organised by reputed socio-cultural trust Trend MMS in association with North East Community of Delhi, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt.of India, Ministry of DoNER, Govt.of India and IGNCA, the North East Festival is an attempt to showcase & create awareness about India's North East and to promote investment & tourism.
As part of the festival, discussion sessions to be organised by North East Community of Delhi on various topics will be held on topics such as Alienation feeling in the North East, Implementation of Bezbaruah Committee Recommendation, Entrepreneurship and Investments in the North East, Opportunities for investment in IT & ITES in the North East, Integrating North East India through Education, Role of DoNER Ministry in NE Youth empowerment, Sports and North East India, and Tourism and North East India.
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi may inaugurate the festival while DoNer Minister VK Singh, Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mr.Sarbananda Sonwal, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr.Kiren Rijiju, and Chief Ministers of North East States will attend as guests of honour.
Besides cultural programems, the festival would also honour Medal winning athletes of CWG & Asian Games from the North East.
Union Minister of Home Affairs Mr.Rajnath Singh may attend the closihg ceremony on November 10 as chief guest.
