IMC conducts drive on licence, pending taxes

Imphal, July 25 2019:
Imphal Municipal Corporation conducted an inspection drive at shops opening around Hatta Minuthong and Khwairamband Keithel to check for licence and pending taxes.
A team of officials of IMC led by its Food Inspector Lisam Rupendra carried out the drive.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the inspection drive, Rupendra said that the drive was taken up following the order issued by MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar directing all shopkeepers under IMC to possess licence under Municipality Act and to clear all pending tax.
The drive will be continued at shops located at the outskirts of Imphal city, the Food Inspector.
He went on to state that the shopkeepers, who do not posses a valid licence or those who have licence but have not cleared all the pending tax, have been advised to follow all the necessary procedures to collect/make a valid licence from the IMC authority.
He said that the verbal notification to make/issue a licence is the first warning and warned that IMC is set to take up stringnet actions against the defaulters, including shutting down of unregistered shops.
