Medical assessment camp underway

Bishnupur, July 25 2019:
A medical assessment camp to identify children with special needs (CWSN) has started today at Block Resource Centre, SSA Bishnupur.
The camp is being organised ZEO/District Project Officer SSA (IED) Zone IV Bishnupur in association with CMO Bishnupur.
During the camp today, 100 children between the age group 6 to 18 were screened by various specialists.
85 children were identified as CWSN.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, co-ordinator Inclusive Education for Disabled SSA Bishnupur, Ksh Purnachandra Singh said that the camp today was organised for children of Bishnupur Block.
Moirang Block will be covered by the camp tomorrow, he said.
The camp identifies children with special needs and provides aids, he said.
Apart from various range of aids provided to assist these children, they are also provided with other benefits such as transport allowance for students and stipend for girls.
Children with special needs who require medical operations are also assisted under the programme, he said.
