Session Judge fixes Aug 28 for passing judgment

Following the final hearing of the Satyabhama murder case on July 23, Session Judge Imphal West has fixed August 28 for passing the judgment.
During the hearing on July 23, all the accused individuals, including Kshetrimayum Biju alias Holendro s/o Ibungo of Irilbung Thongkhong, Thoudam Jiban s/o (L) Thoiba of Irilbung Machahal Leikai and Thoijam Thesis alias Aboi alias James s/o T Jugindro of Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai, were produced before the Court from the judicial custody of Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa.
It may be mentioned that Ningombam Satyabhama, a Junior Research Fellow at Pathology Department, RIMS, was found brutally murdered, at a canal located at Wangkhei Loumanbi Loukol, under Irilbung PS, on April 5, 2013, a couple of days after she left her residence at Kakwa.
The accused individuals were arrested a few days after the incident, by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) which was constituted to solve the murder and arrest the persons involved.
After the investigation of the case, the IO submitted charge sheets before the Court and charges were farmed against the accused individuals on September 20, 2013 .
Deposition of prosecution witnesses started from December 5, 2013 and concluded on September 1, 2017 .
