CSOs of Kangpokpi to go ahead with stir

Kangpokpi, January 20 2022:
Civil bodies of Kangpokpi under the aegis of KSO Sadar Hills have decided to go ahead with their proposed total ban on movement of all commercial trucks including tankers from 12 am of January 21 .
Earlier, the CSOs served a 24-hour ultimatum to the authority concerned for effecting arrest of the people involved in the Keithelmanbi hit and run case.
A 23-year-old youth from Keithelmanbi Military Colony in Champhai Sub Division of Kangpokpi district was killed in an alleged hit-and-run case in the early morning of January 19 along the National Highway 2 at Keithelmanbi Military Colony.
The deceased was a bright student waiting for his MA entrance exam result for admission to MU and was also preparing for the civil services examination.
He was hit by a truck and died on the spot while returning after attending a 24x7 Bible Reading.
The truck allegedly fled the scene.
KSO Sadar Hills general secretary Thangtinlen Haokip said that neither the accused came forward to surrender nor the authority concerned has been able to identify the culprit(s) within the stipulated time.
He continued that as decided earlier, "we will go ahead with the proposed total ban on all commercial trucks even empty trucks including tankers both oil and LPG carriers along the National Highway 2 from 12 am of January 21 .
The student leader also said that the body of Paotinseh Chongloi lying at the morgue will not be claimed until the culprit(s) involved in his killing surrender or the authority concerned identifies the culprit and resolves the matter.
He also appealed to the people to understand their decision of going ahead with the ban on movement of all commercial while seeking cooperation in delivering justice to the poor victim and his family.
