Manipur lowest in jab rate, highest in deaths

Among the five states where elections are all set to be conducted from February till first week of March, Manipiir has the lowest vaccination rate aid highest Covid-19 positivity rate.
According to the data released by Government of India, in the five election-bound states of Punjab, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Goa, Covid-19 vaccination rate is lowest in Manipur.
As per the data, Manipur has 57.40 per cent frst dose vaccination rate and 43.40 per cent second dose vaccination rate.
Out of these, vaccination rate is 8 per cent in the age category 15 to 18 years.
In the case of death rate due to Covid-19, the state ranks highest with 1.08 per cent.
The data mentions that Goa has cent per cent first dose vaccination rate, while second dose vaccination rate is 93 per cent.
The coastal state also has 53 per cent vaccination rate in the age category of 15 to 18 years while the fatality rate is 0.11 per cent.
In case of Uttarakhand, first dose vaccination rate is 98.80 per cent, while second dose vaccination rate is 85 per cent.
Vaccination rate in the age category of 15-18 years is 54 per cent, while the death rate is 0.12 per cent.
The lowest death rate is in UP with 0.04 per cent.
First dose vaccination rate is 91.90 per cent, while second dose rate is 56.40 per cent.
Vaccination rate in the age category of 15-18 years is 31 per cent.
In Punjab, the death rate is 0.17 per cent, while first dose vaccination rate is 78.30 per cent and second dose vaccination rate is 46.20 per cent.
In the age category of 15-18 years, the vaccination rate is 5 per cent.
It can be mentioned here that Election Commission of India in its January 15 review meeting had told the governments of Punjab and Manipur to take up special measures to speed up the rate of vaccination before the elections.
ECI had also mentioned that relaxation on organising rallies and campaign in the states will be considered based on the vaccination rate.
