Imphal, January 20 2022:
While announcing boycott of the Republic Day celebration, the armed group Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) has imposed total shutdown on January 26 and appealed to people to make the shutdown a complete one.
The total shutdown to be effective from lam to 5pm on January 26, however, will be exempted for movement/activities relating to fire, medical and related institutions, media and religious services, a SOREPA statement said.
The SOREPA statement issued by its publicity in-charge MC Yaiphaba also shared outfit's stand on boycotting India's Republic Day celebration in Manipur.
According to the SOREPA statement, a nation becomes republic when it has certain norms after forming a government by independent people through elected representatives and this is known to even students reading in class III/IV.
However, people of nations like Kashmir, Khalistan and WESEA are being suppressed by imperialist India and no consent was taken from the people of these independent nations when India formed its constitution.
Slaves choosing their owners cannot be called republic and this is not found in the dictionary while the land where the government ruled in slaves-owner manner is generally known as colonial rule, the statement said, adding that people of Manipur are still slaves of India and suffering from the torture of Hindu India.
According to the SOREPA statement, the 'idea of India' as formulated by Jawaharlal Nehru as well as the 'idea of India' of the Hindu Sangha Parivar based on Hindutva are both the foundation for Indian imperialism laid by 'deep state' Indians and it is under this foundation that people of Khalistan and Kashmir in South Asia and WESEA in Western South East Asia remained under India's suppression till date.
The main objective of imperialist India being encountered by people of Manipur is to keep intact the forcibly formed Hindu India and uproot people of the nations that India forcibly has taken or annexed through various covert and overt tactics including ethnic-genocide.
There is a government in India which indulges in ethnic-genocide and followed imperialism but not a republic government.
Massacre of several people at Oting village in Nagaland by security forces recently was not a republic trait but an example of uprooting people of WESEA7the statement added.
WESEA region including Kangleipak/Manipur were never a part of India and hence people of the erstwhile independent nations of WESEA, Kashmir and Khalistan have no connection whatsoever with India's Republic Day, the SOREPA statement said and appealed to people to help in developing a united force which could break up India's hegemony.
While stressing the need for pushing forward freedom movement to end India's suppressive regime in WESEA, Kashmir and Khalistan, SOREPA also called for formulating a collective strategy and united movement to regain the lost sovereignty of the people of the region.
It also said that people of WESEA including Kangleipak/Manipur have no meaning of joining the Republic Day celebration and hence imposition of total shutdown on January 26 is considered appropriate, the statement added.
