Kangpokpi 'relocked', DC issues curfew order

Kangpokpi, July 17 2021:
Considering the alarming surge of COVID-19 infections and in sync with the government of Manipur's order, Kangpokpi district magistrate has imposed curfew in the district for 10 days with effect from
July 18 .
According to an order issued by the DM on Saturday, there shall be no movement of people or vehicles and no business activities except for the exempted sectors during the period of curfew.
The exempted activities include all departments and institutions like media, telecom, internet service, power, fire services, PHED, CAF&PD, police, medical/health, relief and DM and district administration.
Also exempted are COVID-19 vaccination and testing related to staff and beneficiaries, agriculture/ horticulture activities with proper COVID protocols, goods truck, petrol pumps/LPG distribution and air travel.
Pharmacies will open as usual with fortnightly COVID-19 free certificates from MO in-charge of the area.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Town Committee 'relocked' the Kangpokpi bazar and curfew in the town from July 18 .
With 23 new positive cases detected in the last 24 hours and 39 COVID patients cured and discharged, the active caseload now stands at 159 while the fatality count remains at 47 .
