MOODLE learning system for colleges launched

Education minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh launched the MOODLE Learning Management System on Saturday for higher education in government and government-aided colleges of the state.
Speaking as chief guest of the launch ceremony held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Education (U), Rajen explained that MOODLE Learning Management System is a unique online education system which provides easy-to-use features, well documented content and courses for online education.
He said this new initiative will help college students cope with their syllabus and lessons during these uncertain times of the pandemic.
While stating that equal emphasis is being given towards improvement of the education system at both the school and higher education level, the minister said that the department will initiate necessary measures to secure NAAC score by the colleges of the state.
Rajen maintained that teaching is one of the noblest professions and they play a very important role in shaping the society by imparting knowledge and skills to students.
If the education system fails, whole generation will be lost, he said.
Rajen also made an appeal to all for extending cooperation to the government's initiatives for promoting education in the state.
Obstructions and agitations by students and teachers' organisations had hampered teaching and learning process in the state and such unwanted activities should be stopped, stressed the minister.
He also confided that the state government would soon conduct a recruitment drive to fill up the vacant posts of teachers across the state.
The launch ceremony was also attended by commissioner of Higher and Technical Education M Harekrishna, director (Education-U) Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, vice chancellor of Manipur University Dr Sanatombi and Dhanamanjuri University VC Prof Rajmohon among others.
