Samir Oraon chairs BJP ST Morcha meeting

Imphal, July 17 2021:
The second executive meeting of BJP Scheduled Tribe Morcha, Manipur was convened today at the party office at Keishampat.
During the meeting which was graced by Samir Oraon, National president BJP ST Morcha as chief guest, action plans for strengthening the organisation to secure absolute majority in the upcoming Autonomous District Council and Assembly elections were discussed, said a press release issued by Leisan C, general secretary of BJP ST Morcha, State unit.
The plans adopted in the meeting, according to Leisan C, include intensifying orientation sessions at State, district, mandal and booth level to scale up party activities; revamping of State, district and mandal committees to streamline organisational functioning at all levels and to complete the corrective measures against the non performing office bearers by July 30, 2021 .
The meeting also resolved to organise capacity building training for district and mandal level office bearers before August 20, 2021 .
Saying that the respective district president of the Morcha will develop a detailed work plan on or before July 28 to disseminate maximum information to grassroots level regarding welfare schemes, social entitlement and developmental being taken up under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh, it added that political conference will also be organised in every district before January 2022 .
District and mandal presidents have also advised to enrol 200 new members in every segment of ADC before August 30 and to identify the booth having more than 100 tribal voters to mark it as a tribal booth, the statement added.
The meeting further resolved to prepare a list of schemes being implemented under Tribal Affairs, organise a commemoration day for tribal legends in consultation with the Central BJP office, identify soldiers from the State who were martyred in the Kargil War to honour them on Kargil Vijay Diwas Day which falls on July 26 and to work out strategies to celebrate Independence Day (August 15) with the spirit of National devotion.
Under the aegis of the Central BJP office, the birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu will be observed at National level on January 26, 2022, it added.
To materialise implementation of Community Forest Rights under the Forest Rights Act 2006, Leisan C has been advised to initiate necessary correspondence with the relevant Ministry on priority basis, it said.
