DMs declare curfew from July 18

Imphal, July 17 2021:
In accordance to the order issued by State Executive Committee chairman and chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar on Friday, district magistrates of Noney, Bishnupur and Chandel have declared 'curfew' for 10 days from July 18 in their respective districts.
As per the prohibitory orders issued by DM (Noney) Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, ADM (Bishnupur) Hanjabam Bobby Sharma and DM (Chandel) Mayanglambam Rajkumar, movement of any person outside of their respective residences is prohibited for 10 days till July 27 under Sub Section 2 of Section 144 of CrPC 1973 in the whole area within the jurisdiction of revenue districts of Noney, Bishnupur and Chandel.
The orders mentioned that the curfew will not be applicable to essential activities/ services related to vaccination, Covid testing, medical services (hospitals, clinics/pharmacies), water supply, power supply, police, tele-com/internet services, air travel, agriculture/horticulture, garbage clearance, petrol pump, LPG distributors, goods trucks and all time bound important projects/works of the government, print and electronic media, government officials for enforcement of law and order and district administration officials/staff managing Covid-19 .
In case of unavoidable gathering for funerals, marriages, religious rituals/cere-monies within the scheduled area, due permission should be sought from the DMs concerned, the orders stated.
