CM's scheme for orphan launched

Department of Social Welfare has launched a scheme namely 'Chief Ministergi Angangi Tengbang' (Chief Minister Bal Seva) for providing assistance to children who have lost both parents/surviving parent/legal guard-ians/adoptive parent(s) and became orphan due to Covid-19.In a notice, Social Welfare director Ngangom Uttam informed that the scheme contains four sub-schemes - Payment of financial assistance to guardians/caretakers and assistance to orphan child; Protection of property; Institutional care for children below 18 years who do not have an extended family/a guardian; Ensuring specific institutional care and education for adolescent girls; and laptop to school/ college going children or child undergoing vocational training.
It also informed that interested individuals may apply in the prescribed application format which may be obtained from the Directorate of Social Welfare/ District Child Protection Unit office or downloaded from the website www.socialwelfare.mn.gov.in to avail the benefits of the scheme.
The duly filled in application form (except for sub-scheme-2) shall be submitted to the district child protection officer concerned, it added.
