Sale of fertilizer at Govt price: Director

Directorate of Agriculture has ordered that urea fertiliser is to be sold at the rate fixed by the government and as per Clause 3 (3) The Fertilizer (Control) Order 1985 .
The notified rate for Manipur is Rs 266.80 per 45 kg.
In a circular, Agriculture director Kh Lalmani Singh ordered that no dealer, manufacturer, importer or pool handling agency shall sell or offer for sale any fertiliser at the price exceeding the maximum price or rate fixed under this clause.
Recently there has been report in some local dailies that urea fertiliser is being sold in the market at a price higher than the maximum retail price.
Agriculture Department is trying to obtain specific input on these reported incidents.
Any information on such selling of urea at higher price can be reported to DAO concerned or through e-mail [email protected], the director said.
He also directed that all district agriculture officers/fertiliser inspectors to submit their inspection verification report of their respective districts relating to sale of urea fertiliser at higher prices.
No person will sell, offer for sale or carry on the business of selling of fertiliser at any place as wholesale dealers or retail dealer except registered certificate/license holder as per Clause of the Fertiliser (Control) Order 1985, the director made it clear.
Kh Lalmani further warned that if any individual is found to have sold or selling urea fertiliser at a rate higher than the maximum retail price, necessary action will be initiated without any further notice as per Fertiliser (Control) Order 1985 .
