Imphal, July 17 2021:
The 109 BN CRPF of IGP Manipur and Nagaland Sector installed statues of Kangla Sha at the main gate of its Mongsangei complex on Saturday.
According to a release, the statues were inaugurated by BN commandant Balkrishna Ram in the presence of social activist AK Singh, Sun Club president S Surendra, CMO (SG) Dr Phaomei Kirongkhon and second in-command Sandeep along with other officers and personnel.
The aim of installing the Kangla Sha at the main gate is to pay respect and extol the rich traditions and culture of Manipur by 109 BN CRPF, it added.
The release mentioned that the Kangla Sha installed at the main gate of 109 BN CRPF are made of brick and they are constructed/erected by the personnel of 109 BN .
They are standing upright majestically with mouths agape.
The two ferocious Kangla Sha shower their blessings upon 109 BN guarding it from the evil eye.
The two bifurcated horns, adorning their heads unlike the leogryphs of East and Southeast Asia, were derived from the Sangai or the brow-antlered deer (Rucervus eldii eldii) of Manipur.
Balkrishna Ram also appreciated the talent of the personnel and thanked the civil dignitaries for giving their support in this initiative, it said.
