AR commemorates Kargil Vijay Diwas

Various events were organised to commemorate 20th Kargil War under the aegis of IGAR today.
Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles organised a motivational talk followed by a short motivational video on Kargil War at St Joseph School, Imphal.
The event also included exhibition of weapons and equipment and pipe band display for the students.
Various patriotic songs were played and photographs of the war were displayed as well.
The event culminated with students writing appreciation messages on the message boards.
Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles organised a "Run for Fun" and a motivational lecture at St Anthony School, Machi which was attended by 310 children and a motivational lecture and screening of documentary movies on the war was held at United College, Chandel which was attended by 55 college students including NCC cadets and faculty members.
Aina Battalion of 27 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a motivational lecture for the students of Conventional English High School at Sinjol village, Churachandpur.
Singhat Battalion of 27 Sector Assam Rifles conducted an awareness drive on drug free in the border villages of the State.
The campaign was led by the school children of Saint Mary's School, Behiang and neighbouring schools of Suangphu and Sialsi village.
The students in this campaign raised concern over drug menace that has seen a sharp rise in the State over the years.
A total of eight teachers and 135 students participated in the event.
Sehlon Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles organised a documentary film on Kargil war at Old Samtal, Chandel district.
The special screening of Kargil heroes was attended by 22 children, 15 females and 13 males of the region followed by a motivation lecture by the village chief and own troops.
