Imphal, October 24 2021:
Khurai AC MLA L Susindro has termed as unfortunate that Wangkhei AC MLA Yumkham Erabot and others objected and raised unnecessary issue over the repair work being carried out along a road near the TV Tower adjoining Khurai and Wangkhei constituencies on Sunday.
Speaking at a public meeting held at Unity ground in Kongpal Kongkham Leikai regarding the incident on Sunday, Susindro explained that although the frontal portion of Ayangpalli road from Porompat crossing to Lamlong Bazar falls under Khurai AC, the area cannot stand for the constituency, being a revenue land.
Nonetheless, the denizens residing along the back-end portion of Ayangpalli road falling under Wangkhei AC have been utilising the land in Khurai AC by constructing community halls.
However, no objection has been raised till date on constituency lines.
Unfortunately, there have been numerous incidences of the denizens of Wangkhei AC continuously objecting to the activities being carried put in the area near the TV Tower falling under Khurai AC, he recounted.
Stating that repair work on Sunday included draining the water on the said road and repairing the potholes; Susindro expressed shock over Yumkham Irabot's objection and asking whether the repair work was being carried out via a work order.
He then said that it was amusing to see an elected representative making such a statement, while questioning if every activity meant to better the life of the people in his (Susindro) constituency should be carried out only with a work order.
Contending that he would not stay silent if any such incidents were to repeat in the future, the Khurai AC MLA said that he would always stand for the welfare of the people of Khurai.
