CM damns turncoats, welcomes new entrants

Chief minister N Biren said that there was a culture of politicians hopping from one party to another and those turncoats are called 'Hangoi (Frog) Politicians' while on the other hand real politicians come out to serve the public.
He was attending a felicitation ceremony of former NEIDP members Sapam Keba of Patsoi assembly constituency and Yumnam Nabachandra of Wangkhem assembly constituency upon confirmation of their membership to BJP.
Speaking at the event held at the party's Nityaipat Chuthek office, here on Sunday, Biren pointed out that there was a time when politicians hopped from one party to another and stayed in camps during election times and those turncoats were branded as Hangoi Politicians'.
On the other hand, real politicians serve the public going from house to house while upholding the true value of democracy.
The BJP government has uprooted the trend of this camping and the party was able to do it due to its ideology of nation first, party second and self the last.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, it is no longer feasible to organise Public Day and Hill Leaders' day.
As such, the government launched 'CM Da Haisi' platform so that the public could directly connect with the chief minister to bring about good governance.
Since the platform was launched, over 2000 phone calls have been received till Saturday.
Grievances related with assistance for hospitalisation, died-in-harness and old age pension schemes were the main grievances the callers reported and maximum of them have been resolved.
Go to Hills programme is about to conclude and Go to Village 2.0 will also be launched by the first week of November, he said.
Expressing concern over the increasing violent incidents related with election, the CM said that it has become necessary to collect all licensed arms to prevent unwanted incidents.
He appealed to all concerned not to use violence as a tool for election and urged political workers and electors not to use defamatory words during campaign but choose their candidates freely without getting involved in violence.
As for BJP, the party will abide by its ideologies and directives from the central leaders, he said.
Biren further said that having a stable government is necessary to bring development and BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is building a new and united India.
Due to the party's initiatives and good governance, many are joining the party and many more will join in the coming days.
With significant improvement in the law and order situation, general public no longer have the fear in returning home late.
Poor families are getting benefits of various welfare schemes.
The government is planning to increase the household tap water connection to 80 per cent of the population, he maintained.
In his address, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda called upon the party leaders, workers and members to put their best efforts for retaining power in the 2022 election.
BJP and its symbol lotus are the only hope for a better Manipur.
The BJP government and union ministers during their visits to the state always interact with the public to understand their grievances and address them.
Despite this, opposition parties are complaining of union ministers not announcing developmental packages during their visit, she ridiculed.
Sharda further pointed out that there is no longer any bandh or blockade in the state as the BJP government is proactive in resolving public issues and it is the testimony of good governance.
Initiatives like public day, Hill leaders' day and 'CM Da Haisi' are some of the initiatives of the BJP government, she said.
On the other-hand, around 500 individuals from Sugnu assembly constituency joined the BJP under the leadership of BJP Sugnu Mandal and intending candidate K Muktasana.
