Imphal, May 15 2021:
JNIMS director professor Th Bhimo has clarified that the hospital authority has been providing proper facilities and care to all the Covid positive healthcare workers undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Addressing a press meet in his office here on Saturday, professor Bhimo said that around 40 health workers of JNIMS contracted the disease since the second wave of the pandemic hit the state.
Maximum of them had already been discharged and only 9 health workers are under treatment in the hospital at present.
The hospital authority is providing prescribed medicines for them as with any other Covid patients.
However, they also buy other medicines, which they seem fit as a medical practitioner, on their own.
Foods provided for in-patients are also provided to the ailing health workers and sometimes, they buy extra supplement as per their wish.
So far, only one doctor is in need of oxygen support, the same is being provided by JNIMS authority.
Other than the doctor, none of the other health workers require oxygen.
The hospital authority is ever ready to provide oxygen to them if there is any such requirement, he said.
The director further said that the hospital authority, doctors, nurses and other staff are putting their best efforts in the fight against Covid.
He also appealed to all to confirm any report or information with JNIMS authority if there is any.
