Police to grill 2 held in indecent act case

Two men arrested by women police station, Imphal East on Thursday under POCSO Act for their alleged indecent acts against two minor girls have been sent to police custody for further questioning till May 4 by a court.
The arrested men are identified as Md Amir Khan (21) son of Md Samshurdin of Sangaiyumpham Dam Mamang and Md Firoz (20) son of Zahid Khan of Phundrei Sabal Leikai Chingkhong.
The IO of the case produced both the arrested men in the court of special judge (POCSO) Imphal East and sought four days' police remand of the duo.
While seeking the remand, the IO submitted before the court that both Amir Khan and Md Firoz were arrested under section 366-A, 506 of IPC and Section 4 of POCSO Act based on two separate FIRs registered following complaints filed by mothers of the two minor girls.
As per complaints lodged by mothers of the victims hailing from Changamdabi Sagollou Sangaiching, the incidents of indecent acts against their minor daughters occurred respectively around 7.30pm and 7.50pm on April 24 .
However, both Amir Khan and Md Firoz threatened to kill the victims if they disclosed their indecent acts to other people.
The two mothers also said the victims disclosed about the incidents on April 28 and accordingly lodged complaints to women police station, Imphal East.
Based on complaints lodged by mothers of the victims, Amir Khan and Md Firoz were picked up from their respective houses at about 3.30pm on Thursday and questioned about the incident.
Both the victims when picked up for questioning disclosed that Amir Khan and Md Firoz outraged their modesty.
During further investigation, police found out the age of the victim girls as per their educational certificates to be 14 and 13 years, the IO submitted before the court and prayed for granting four days' police remand of Amir Khan and Md Firoz for further questioning and the court granted the same.
