IBSD, Imphal celebrates foundation day

Imphal, April 29 2022:
Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), an undertaking of Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology organised a programme on "Bio-economy of Bioresources with special reference to NER" to commemorate its foundation day celebration on Friday.
Dignitaries present at the celebration programme appreciated the various research activities and outreach programmes of IBSD for the development of bio-resources under the leadership of its director Prof Pulok K Mukherjee.
During the event, the IBSD director also highlighted various activities of IBSD under different research verticals for the development of bio-economy from bio-resources of North Eastern Region in collaboration with 21 international and national institutions, universities and industry partners.
Prof Pulok mentioned that IBSD is working on exploring traditional knowledge and natural resources for the socio-economic development.
Towards this, an MoU was signed between IBSD and the Department of Science and Technology, he added.
DBT scientist G Dr Anamika Gambhir, who attended the event virtually, emphasised on various support programmes funded by DBT, ministry of Science and Technology.
The programme also had the participation of renowned speakers including RGCB Kerala director Prof Chandrabhas Narayana, IASST Guwahati director Prof A Mukherjee.
NIT Durgapur West Bengal Prof S Chattopadhyay, HIT Senapati director Prof Krish nan Baskar, MU Biotechnology Department head Prof L Shanjukumar Singh and DBT Vigilance deputy secretary SN Narain.
All the scientists, students and staff of IBSD also attended the event.
