Teen hospitalised after consuming 'Sting Energy Drink'
Authorities advise against consuming drink until test results are received

A 17-year old boy from Moirangkampu Saheb Awang Leikai was hospitalised on Thursday morning after consuming 'Sting Energy Drink' .
The incident came to light after a post went viral on social media platforms claiming that the 17-year-old fell ill after he drank the energy drink after having his breakfast.
He was immediately taken to JNIMS hospital for treatment.
A team of Imphal East Food Safety Administration and Food Safety Officers along with Porompat police visited the teenager to enquire about his health condition.
The team also collected the samples of the energy drink from various locations and have sent them to the laboratories for testing.
In this regard, Health Services director and Additional Food Safety commissioner Dr K Rajo conveyed that after the teenager drank the energy drink, his whole body started experiencing itching and he was feeling unwell.
The boy was then taken to JNIMS hospital for treatment and later, discharged on Friday after his condition stabilised.
The teenager reportedly had the energy drink with his younger brother, who, however, did not get sick.
As such, the teenager could have been experiencing an allergic reaction.
The energy drink in question has been produced in adherence to FSSAI guidelines and is produced by Gurga on (Gurugram)-based Varun Beverage Limited Company.
However, as such an incident has occurred, all the 'Sting Energy Drink' sold at the shop from which the teenager had bought the drink, and other shops have been collected.
Samples of the drinks have been sent to the Food Testing Laboratory to determine if any harmful components are present.
Since confirmation of the results of the test will take a week, the director has appealed to the people not to consume the energy drink till then, add ing that if the test results are positive, further investigation will be required.
He also urged the people to properly check the water and the energy drinks before drinking, considering the rising temperature.
He then advised shops not to keep/ expose the any such drinks in the sun.
