Three PLA cadres arrested with weapons

Imphal, September 09 2022:
A combined team of 5 Assam Rifles and Moreh Police commando unit apprehended three armed PLA cadres from near Indo-Myanmar international border on Friday.
According to police report, based on specific input, the combined team apprehended the three PLA cadres from near Jangnoi village close to the international border at around 3 am on Friday.
The PLA cadres have been identified as Meisnam Malemthoiba Singha alias Malemnganba (18), son of M Mani Kumar of Cachar Kamranga Part-1, Assam, who joined the proscribed group through one Sanathoi of Jirighat and trained at Ango (GHQ) under army No.3338 of Batch-April 2022; Leihaothabam Thoiba Sharma alias Tiken (21), son of L Meiraba of Kaphei Lungchang village, Chandel district, who was recruited by one self-styled lieutenant Shanta and trained at Ango (GHQ) under army No 3339 of Batch- 2022 and Thokchom Tamthouba alias Dia mond Meitei (23), son of Th Britain of Serou Bazar Awang Leikai, Kakching district.
He joined the outfit through one Pheiroijam Joykumar of Serou Bazar and underwent training at Ango (GHQ) under army No 3340 of Batch-2022 .
The combined team also recovered one AK series rifle with one magazine and four live rounds, two .32 pistols with two magazines 10 rounds from the apprehended PLA cadres.
The arrested cadres and the seized weapons have been handed over to Moreh po lice station for further legal action.
According to PRO IGAR (S), Moreh Battalion Assam and Manipur Police received specific input regarding movement of PLA cadres between BP-79 and BP-81 launched a joint operation that led to the capture of the three cadres.
The cadres were attempting infiltration with intention to target security forces, said the PRO.
