"NFSA rice not allocated for 7 months"

CSO leaders of Longmai Area have expressed their disappointment over the non-allocation of rice under NFSA to Longmai village, Noney District HQ for 7 months this year (January to March and May to August) .
Addressing a press conference yesterday at Noney District Working Journalist Union Office (NoDWJU) in Longmai Part-3, the CSO leaders appealed to the State Government and Department concerned to look into the matter and provide the rice to the people of Longmai village before September 20 .
The CSO leaders also cautioned that if the Government failed to provide the rice before September 20, they would be compelled to launch a series of agitations.
Moreover, the CSO leaders accompanied by media persons of Noney district also carried out spot enquiries on various issues including shortage of doctors in Noney PHC, irregular power supply in Noney District HQ and deplorable condition of roads in Longmai Bazar Area.
The CSO leaders mentioned that the people of Longmai area are suffering due to the failure of the Department concerned to send replacement doctors in Noney PHC.
They further appealed to the Government and local MLA to address the issues at the earliest and bring equal development in both the hills and the valley.
The inspection was participated by Villages Council Longmai Area chairman, Adai Dangmei; Longmai Village Authority chairman, Kasaigai Gangmei; Longmai Village Customary Court leaders; Longmai Youth League and Longmai Students' Union leaders among others.
