State level painting competition held at RIMS

Imphal, January 28 2018:
A State level painting competition in connection with the Swachhta Action Plan was held at Jubilee Hall, RIMS.
The competition was held in three different categories.
In Class III to V category, Thoithoiba Singh of Regular English School, Julia Thoidingjam of KV School, Lamphelpat and Brainis of Nirmalabas School stood first, second and third position respectively.
In Class VI to VIII category, Martin Tongbram of Pitambara English School, Linthoi Sapam of Kendriya Vidayala, Lamphelpat and Yumlembam Udoynanda bagged first, second and third position respectively.
In class IX & X category, Telen Khaidem of DAV Public School, Venesh Keisham of Pitambara English School and Wangthoi Angom of Eden Public School fetched 1st, 2nd and third prize respectively.
Around 300 students from different schools participated in the competition.
Cash prizes with certificates were distributed to the respective winners.
In each category, seven students were given cash prize along with a certificate each.
The prize distribution function was attended by Director, RIMS Prof A Santa Singh, Medical Superintendent Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh and film Actor and social worker Rajkumar Kaiku (Somendra) as the chief guest, president and special guest respectively.
Prof Santa said that the State level painting competition gave useful awareness to the young school students which ultimately benefit the public of the State in large extent.
He said that in order to succeed the Swachh Bharat Mission, students should involve in activities related to the initiative with the support of their guardian.
Prof Arunkumar said that RIMS is taking up various activities to keep the institute neat and clean.
He sought support of the people in this regard.
Kaiku urged the students to participate in such competitions in the future.
He also encouraged the students to involve in extra curriculum activities along with their study.
