Accused In Ganmon killing case nabbed

Assam Rifles claimed that troops of its Jwalamukhi Battalion under IGAR (East) apprehended a wanted non-SoO Kuki militant who was involved in the infamous B Gamnom killing of October 12, 2021 in a joint operation with police on Saturday.
The apprehended militant has been identified as Satkithang Kipgen alias Thangboi alias Ranjit (37) son of late Khaikholam Kipgen of Damdei.
He is an active cadre of KNF-N.According to Assam Rifles sources, the operation was carried out by COB Motbung pf Jwalamukhi Battalion and Gamnom Saparmeina police based bn input regarding presence of a non-SoO KNF-N cadre at Kholep village.
The operation was launched after the input was corroborated with various sources and detailed planning.
The cadre was apprehended from a mechanical workshop located along National Highway 2 near Kholep village in Kangpokpi district around 2pm Saturday.
The apprehended cadre is the area commander of the region and was involved in the infamous firing incident at B Gamnom village which resulted in the killing of three innocent civilians on October 12 last.
Two mobile phones, some cash and one side bag were recovered from the possession of the apprehended cadre who was later handed over to Gamnom Saparmeina police station along with the recovered items the same evening, it added.
It may be recalled that CM N Biren Singh had strongly condemned the B Gamnom firing incident and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone who could provide information about those involved in the incident.
It may also be recalled that Imphal West police commando and 15 Assam Rifles arrested three cadres of Kuki National Front (N) allegedly involved in the B Gamnom bring incident few days after the incident.
Police also identified the arrested individuals as Hentinseh Singsit, Seigoulun Singsit and Henminlun Misao but some Kuki organisations claimed that they are innocent people and they have been framed.
