Notably, Chief Minister N Biren Singh had strongly condemned the killing of innocent civilians in the infamous B Gamnom firing incident and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for providing information about the militants involved.
A few days after the firing incident, the State police claimed that three cadres of KNF-N involved in the firing have been arrested in separate counter-insurgency operations in Kangpokpi district.
However, the claim of the police was strongly denied by Kakai Singsit, a prominent social activist and former ATSUM leader, stating that the arrested trio were all drug users and had no connection with the infamous B Gamnom killing.
