YWC, Langthabal prepare for IWL outings

Despite lack ing modern infrastructure of a football academy, Young Welfare Club (YWC) Langthabal is all set to play the qualifying rounds of Indian Women's League 2022 in U-17 and U-14 categories.
YWC was established as a women's football club in 2007 and it has been giving good performance since then and won Imphal West Senior Women's Championship and AMFA Senior Women's Football League.
Mutum Surmala, head coach of Manipur Police Sports Club s women s football team, is providing basic to advanced training on modern football to girls from Langthabal and other areas at Langthabal Public Ground in her free time.
So far, the club has produced five international and 15 national footballers in U-19 category.
The club's player Hemam Pinky led the Indian U-12 to U-18 teams in different international championships including SAFF Games.
Veteran footballer Wangkhem Robin has been extending assistance to the club right from the beginning and he is providing track suits for the players, who would be participating in the qualifying rounds of the Indian Women's League.
Coach Surmala said that there are several players in the Indian camp, who started playing in the club and it will be a huge advantage for the club in the league.
YWC is grouped together with five clubs in the qualifying round.
They will play their first match against Golajo Football Club on April 1, Guwahati City Football Club on April 3 and ARAFC on April 5 .
